Supernatural Skeptics Guide to New Orleans is a brand new adventure in the fan-favorite franchise of The Walking Dead. Critically acclaimed actress Mara Junot leads listeners through a ten-part horror adventure in the role of host Sarah Bennett. This odyssey is a companion story to The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners VR game from Skydance Interactive and Skybound Games, which will be available for players to dive into on January 23rd, 2020.

Last week listeners were treated to a tale of despair in Part Six: Jack’s Back where Bennett and Sebastian survived witnessed the deaths of the Prescotts, an innocent couple who traveled to the LaRouche House to find shelter from the outside world infected with deadly walkers. However, a fatal wound to Jack Prescott led the man to become a walker, which ultimately resulted in his death and the demise of his wife, Krista. Now, we return to see how Bennett and Sebastian are currently fairing in the apocalypse in Part Seven: Huntress.

Our hardened host explains to her listeners how being stuck within the confines of the infamous LaRouche House trying to survive the horrors of the infected world overrun by walkers has begun to have adverse effects on herself. Bennett’s current mindset is shown off when she lets out a much-needed scream when she cut her hand, opening a can of peaches. This outburst causes Sebastian to check in on Sarah, following the two survivors not having spoken to each much following the tragedy of the Prescotts that both of them witnessed.

However, Sebastian takes this opportunity to give Bennett a new weapon, a baseball covered in nails, to use in their future fights. “I thought he was getting me a bandaid… but he returned with a baseball bat studded with nails. ‘In case we run into trouble,’ he said. Sebastian had made me my very own walker-killing weapon,” explains Bennett in episode seven of The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners VR game companion podcast. “He handed me the bat, which felt natural in my hands. Crazy how the world’s gone when a lethal weapon feels natural.”

Sebastian goes on to surprise Bennett when he asks our host if she would like to go hunting. At first, Bennett laughs off the idea considering that leaving the shelter they have called home throughout the entirety of The Walking Dead: Saints & Sinners VR game companion story and hunting walkers for sport may not be the wisest idea. However, she soon becomes a supporter of the idea when she realizes that it was the perfect night to let off some steam due to the floodwaters receding from the streets. The pair agree that they will only hunt walkers that are by themselves and that they would return to the LaRouche House if they came across packs of walkers, military personnel, or marauders.

Bennett and Sebastian leave and soon come across a group of three walkers devouring some dead deer. Sebastian motions for the two to turn back. However, the rage that Sarah has built up throughout the apocalypse could not be contained any longer in what became an intense urge to make these monsters pay for what they had they had done to the world. “If these mindless monsters were to conquer the world, fine. But not without a fight,” Bennett states before she begins her assault on the infected.

The three walkers end up being no match for Sebastian and Sarah, who swiftly dispatch them with their weapons. However, Sebastian is not pleased with the reckless nature that Bennett had just displayed in what causes an awkward period for the two survivors during their hunting expedition. This awkwardness is soon out of their minds when Sebastian alerts Bennett that two marauders from the shadows are watching them.

Sarah and Sebastian decide to set a trap for the two marauders by luring them behind a house where they had secured a position for themselves to launch a surprise attack. This surprise assault from Sarah and Sebastian inflicts a great deal of damage to the two enemies following them. “The marauder’s wet footsteps come closer… closer… until… The First Marauder never knew what hit him. WHAM. Sebastian sunk his axe straight into his chest,” Bennett vividly recounts. “I leaped in the path of the second marauder as he stumbled to a stop and fell on the wet ground, spear dropping uselessly into the mud. ‘Please, wait!.’ was his frightened plea.”
